The Soulway Express is a dynamic funk, soul & jazz band that will get your dance floor moving! As the kickin' rhythm section and the four funky horns lay down the groove, the smooth backing vocals pave the way for the awesome voice of Nyssa Bradsworth to belt out all your favourite funk, soul & pop from the 60's to today. We range from being a 3 piece jazz trio up to a massive 11 piece band.
The Soulway Express bring all the classics - the funk grooves of James Brown and Kool & the Gang; the powerful soul of Aretha Franklin and The Blues Brothers; the smooth feel good vibes of Stevie Wonder and Barry White; the disco classics from the Jacksons, the Village People and all those one hit wonders; as well as playing the latest funky dance tunes from Jamiroquai, Beyonce and other top 40 artists. Established in early 2005, The Soulway Express is an experienced group of passionate and dedicated musicians. After all meeting during their tertiary studies in music performance, the band began playing together, impressing audiences and keeping the dance floor packed with their big funky sound only a band of this size can provide! The Soulway Express have played at a wide variety of settings - including weddings, university and religious balls, functions, clubs, indoors and outdoors, with a major highlights being New Years Eve 2005/6 and 06/07, playing to 20,000 people on the foreshore of Lakes Entrance.
If venue size or budget are restricting, the band size can be adjusted to anywhere between 3 & 11 members to suit your needs.
